The Discovery Centerr (Visitor Center for Kampung Janda Baik, Pahang)
The project is to create a Discovery Center exclusively for Kampung Janda Baik. The project's main goals emphasise and celebrate the region's rich diversity of culture, tradition, and history as well as its health as a location, a community, a hub of activity, and an economy. Students must identify the major value and the distinctive or intriguing feature of the location that best captures and expresses the spirit of the location (genius loci). This will then be converted into a narrative that will help with the Discovery Center's design and journey. The design should be a stand-alone structure with two stories above ground and a total floor size of between 300 and 450 square metres. The design should take into consideration universal design because it needs to be accessible by everyone.

Reflection
Disciplin Specific Knowledge
It was my first time to have a 3 days 2 nights site visit. Kampung Janda Baik is a place that brings good memories through out the entire site visit. I am able to generate design through conscious consideration of spatial typologies, section-plan relationship, contextual conditions and considerations of human scale, natural light, materiality, and textures.
Lifelong Learning
I will apply all the learning outcome including document, interpret and analyze the physical conditions of the site and ‘genius loci’ of place and generate design based on the character and conditions of the site context. It was my first time to apply universal design as well, i learned a lot through this project and will apply it in the future project.
Communication Skill
Communication skill is important to ensure that we will be able to present well during the presentation day. I noticed that I was able to present better and more confident compared to previous presentation. Besides that, communication skill within student and tutor are important too as student will need to have weekly tutorial and present to our tutor in order to identify mistake and improvement that can be made.
